These Terms govern your access to and use of the VitraLab website, engineering calculators, reports and related services.
By using VitraLab you agree to these Terms.
1. Engineering Tool
VitraLab is an engineering calculation aid only.
It is not a substitute for project-specific engineering judgement, independent verification, professional engineering services, regulatory approval or applicable engineering standards.
2. User Responsibility
The user, and where applicable the responsible engineer, consultant, contractor, manufacturer or project professional, remains solely responsible for:
- engineering judgement;
- interpretation of results;
- design decisions;
- specifications;
- drawings;
- calculations;
- material selection;
- regulatory compliance;
- construction decisions;
- verification of all outputs; and
- every engineering decision relating to a project.
Use of VitraLab does not transfer any engineering, contractual, statutory or professional responsibility to VitraLab.
3. Independent Verification
Every calculation, report and engineering output generated by VitraLab must be independently reviewed, verified and approved by a suitably qualified professional before being relied upon for any design, specification, manufacture, procurement or construction activity.
4. No Professional Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes professional engineering advice, legal advice, regulatory advice or certification.
5. Standards
Calculators may implement published engineering standards and draft technical documents.
The EC10 implementation currently references reviewed drafts of:
- prEN 19100-1
- prEN 19100-2
Draft standards may change and users remain responsible for determining the correct standards, National Annexes and project requirements applicable to their projects.
6. Reports
Reports reflect calculator outputs at the time of generation.
Users are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, storing and retaining any reports they require.
VitraLab does not guarantee permanent storage of calculations, reports or project information.
7. Fair Use
VitraLab may apply:
- daily usage limits;
- authentication;
- access codes;
- subscriptions;
- feature restrictions; and
- security controls.
Users must not:
- bypass usage limits;
- share restricted access credentials without authorisation;
- automate excessive requests;
- interfere with the service;
- upload malicious software; or
- attempt unauthorised access.
8. Intellectual Property
The VitraLab name, branding, website, documentation, software, software algorithms, engineering calculation implementations, source code, report layouts and all related intellectual property are owned by or licensed to VitraLab and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
9. Restrictions
Except where permitted by law, users must not:
- reverse engineer;
- decompile;
- scrape;
- systematically extract data;
- reproduce;
- redistribute;
- create derivative works; or
- copy any part of the software or engineering implementations.
10. Availability
VitraLab may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature, engineering implementation, calculator, report format, usage limit or access arrangement without notice.
Availability is not guaranteed.
11. No Warranty
VitraLab is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VitraLab makes no express, implied or statutory warranties, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or uninterrupted availability.
Users assume all risks arising from use of the service.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VitraLab shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or economic losses arising from unverified inputs, outputs, reports, service interruptions or use contrary to these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits statutory consumer rights or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Commercial Use
These Terms apply equally to personal, academic and commercial users.
Organisations remain responsible for ensuring compliance with their own engineering procedures, quality assurance systems and applicable laws.
